Join Mini Futures Workshops
- Mafalda Pinto Soares Madureira ITC: Re-designing the campus for diversity (English)
In this workshop, participants explore how public spaces on the UT campus can become more attractive and accessible to people of different ages, incomes, and cultural backgrounds. Using AI, urban design, and participatory methodologies, you will develop ideas to redesign places on campus. We discuss who uses the campus, which places are well-known, what barriers exist, and what opportunities exist to open up the campus more to the city. - Janko Bartelink on behalf of Citizen Science East Netherlands: To measure is to know the future! (Dutch)
Join our interactive workshop where data collection and ‘futuring’ come together. Armed with measuring equipment, we head onto the festival grounds to map our surroundings. Think, for example, of an experiment regarding heat stress: what effect does the addition of greenery have on the temperature and humidity on campus? Using the data we collect ourselves, we get to work with futuring techniques. We design scale models or visions to make the built environment future-proof. Learn to look at your surroundings with fresh eyes and discover how you can influence a climate-adaptive future yourself! In collaboration with Tetem and various researchers, among others.

- Organised for international visitors
- Learn more about this collaborative ecosystem while enjoying a Dutch-style lunch
- Witness the opening of exhibition ‘Art of Imagination’
- You will receive your festival essentials
Will you join on the (9th and) 10th of June? Please register before May 20th
About ENHANCE
Societal challenges are multifaceted and happen on a global scale. We already notice this around us, and one way or another, we will all be affected. So now is the time for us to use our discipline, experiences and curiosity to make our communities, societies and our planet a better place for all.
For the past three years, a multidisciplinary team of researchers across Europe has been working collaboratively, to help create the change that is needed to move towards a shared vision of making society better for everyone. They were trained to give local communities a voice that amplified their needs, through future workshops: The essence of ENHANCE, a European project co-funded by the Erasmus+ Programme.
The contributors to this project take great pride in sharing the lessons and knowledge they have accumulated throughout these years. It is our privilege to connect the different worlds and offer everyone the golden ticket to open the curtains of ENHANCE – Voices in motion. Whether you want to listen and feel inspired, discuss and learn, brainstorm and expand your mind: use your voice, participate and become key contributor of your own experience and a better world: From a local to a global level.
