The Kick Off meeting of ENHANCE, an Erasmus+ funded project, was held at DCU St Patrick’s Campus on 1st and 2nd February 2024. Partners from Finland, Sweden, Lithuania, Portugal, the Netherlands, and Ireland met in person to set the tone for all future project activities and agree on how objectives and project results will be achieved.
After a welcome and partners introductions, a thorough overview of the project was presented by DCU, the coordinator of ENHANCE. The project members discussed the outputs expected to be delivered, the concepts of Citizen Science and Futures Workshops (FW), and the inclusion/integration of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) in the research framework. The vision statements/goals were discussed first in small groups, and the conclusions fed back to the larger group for further discussions.
On the last day, the team members discussed project management related topics, reporting, implementation of the FW process, dissemination and sustainability of the project, and the recruitment and training of the researchers to be involved in the FWs. To conclude the meeting, partners discussed the next steps and the project timeline.
The kick off meeting helped to increase the understanding of the project and to establish positive working practices among partners.
