DCU’s Age-Friendly University Unit

Organisation

DCU’s Age-Friendly University Unit engages 2000+ older people in education, research, cultural, wellness, sports and social opportunities. It promotes age inclusivity at DCU, challenging ageism and stereotypes, promotes intergenerational engagement and the lovegevity dividend. It also contributes to policy and advocacy on older people’s issues engaging in the national and international policy arena. Participant profiles span those aged late 40’s upwards to 92 involving older people from all walks of life (teachers, gardai, civil service, home makers, craft workers, service workers, retired DCU staff) who share a common trait – curiousity and interest in having a sense of purpose, learning new things, meeting new people and actively engaging in society.
