Alice Brawley-Chesworth

Researcher

I am an interdisciplinary social science post-doctoral researcher studying climate policy and politics at the DCU School of Law and Government. Prior to coming to DCU, I worked in the water sector for 30 years at the municipal level in the US as a chemist, engineer and policy analyst. My Ph.D. in Urban Studies examined organisational change, climate adaptation, innovation, infrastructure and disciplinary cultures. As a postdoc, I recently completed an EPA study examining barriers to climate adaptation in Ireland using a political economy framework. I have recently started working on two projects: An EU Horizon project called RETOOL looking at climate and democracy in the EU, and a new Climate+ Biodiversity and Water Co-centre, and interdisciplinary research programme spanning fundamental and translational research across the islands of Ireland and Great Britain.
